Every company has its fair share of flaws, and it endures the scrutiny that comes with it. However, it’s safe to say that very few companies have the guts to take that criticism while also laughing along to its parody video. YouTube proved it has some major “cojones” by publishing Barely Political’s sensation, “YouTube Complaints 2014!” on its own platform.
Of course, the complaints are met by the satirical responses from the receptionist-from-hell, but what would her friendly-and-actually-helpful twin say? Let’s find out.
YouTubers, how may we be of assistance today?
Complaint #1: Sorry guys, unfortunately we don’t have the ability to break the ties between YouTube and Google+. Suggestion? Try creating a “Circle Against Circles” Circle, and it will catch their attention. Well, probably not, but more power to you.
Complaint #2: “Are you famous? Or at least friends with Macklemore?” No? Well, we aren’t either. At ViralGains, we choose not to discriminate; even if you’re a 40-year-old musician living in your parents’ basement, there are people out there who are going to love your original song about the financial crisis and your mom’s meatloaf. We’re here to help you find them. Our viral marketing platform will deliver your video to this audience, making sure you get the views and shares you deserve.
Complaint #3: “Weird Al” Yankovic may have mastered the art of the parody, but there are no parodies without the original—there’s no “Polka Face,” without “Poker Face.” There are plenty of people who enjoy the real thing. Oftentimes, however, this original content gets buried under a mountain of parodies. If people can’t find your video, they’ll never be able to appreciate its realness. Whether you’ve got original content or a silly parody, ViralGains gets your video in front of the right eyeballs, ensuring targeted video views and social shares.
Complaint #4: Want to promote a Livestream campaign with ViralGains? Not a problem. Your content won’t be afflicted with a horrible stutter and viewers will be able to enjoy the stream without experiencing epileptic seizures. It’s really a win-win.
Complaint #5: A world without “Let it Go,” covers…“Let me live that fantasy.” If you have female friends, or even male friends with an affinity for Disney, you’ve heard Frozen’s wildly popular “Let it Go.” I mean, you have to admit it’s pretty catchy, and imitation is the best form of flattery. YouTubers, you’re just going to have to live with this one. Seriously, let it go…(too much?).
Complaint #6: If your not-so-tech-savvy mother can upload an entire album of photos (that you thought you had destroyed any trace of) from your awkward, brace-face middle school phase, then you can figure out how to add a profile picture to your YouTube account. If not, there’s always help forums. Here, we’ll even include the link for you: http://bit.ly/1sUEmOs.
First Kiss Reenactment: Like we don’t already have enough of those…
Complaint #7: Are you a funny guy who makes funny blogs about yourself in your basement? Want to get rich? You don’t need a MCN or shady site that gives away free views. In order to monetize your YouTube videos, you’re going to have to find the people who will watch, love and share your content. That’s what we do at ViralGains. We target your most relevant, socially-active audience to help your video spread across the web like wildfire.
Complaint #8: That guy was pretty excited to “buy a YouTube.” Wouldn’t it be nice if consumers were that excited about your product? Well, online video marketing increases awareness and purchase intent, so as long as you create engaging content for viewers and deliver it to the right audience, you’re golden. Sure, you could go at it alone, but you may not be able to reach your perfect audience. ViralGains will serve your video to targeted individuals (potential customers and brand advocates) who are actually interested in the content you produce. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Dude Perfect Appearance: Because what kind of life would this be if it weren’t for “Epic Trick Shot Battles?”
Complaint #9: Want to become the next successful vlogger? Step one: ditch the wig and the painfully-obvious fake accent. Seriously. Step two: be you; authenticity resonates. Step three: attract real fans with the help of the ViralGains self-serve platform.
Complaint #10: Everyone puts a lot of time, thought and energy into their videos. And yes, sometimes video gamers will rack up millions of views on their gaming videos, but that’s because people are actively searching for that kind of content on YouTube. In fact, YouTube found that 95% of gamers turn to its site for gaming information and entertainment. No wonder these kinds of videos do so well!
People may not be actively looking for your comedy videos, and that’s why it’s up to you to deliver your content to the perfect audience. As we mentioned before, sometimes it’s difficult to do this on your own. If you promote your video through the ViralGains self-serve platform, we’ll do the work for you. We’ll make sure the right people watch and share your content!
Complaint #11: Often, when it comes to the journey to becoming a YouTube star, the path to success isn’t paved at all; instead, it requires meticulously laying down each and every brick by hand. While there is no shortage of dedication, you’re human and you need a break every once in awhile. Barring the availability of a stunt-double, the only secret to success is to stay consistent. By sticking to a schedule, whether it be weekly or monthly, it’ll keep you on track, and it’ll keep your audience glued to their screens.
Complaint #12: Sorry everyone, but Bob and his army aren’t strong enough to take down the power couple that is YouTube and Google+.
Are there any other complaints we can help you with today?
The reality is that no one and nothing is 100% perfect, even YouTube. Frankly, whenever there is a forum for feedback (even if you have to make a Google+ account to leave your mark), the complaints will never end. If there’s a complaint missing, check back in for the 2015 edition.
