For years, Disney has inspired generations with magical stories of hope, love, triumph and bravery. Now, Disney is asking fans to inspire them with six-second Vine videos themed around the Disney parks and characters. To complement its new social media campaign, “Show Your Disney Side,” Disney launched its official Vine account on October 1. It will feature both original and user-generated content which is being driven by the “Vine Your Disney Side” contest.
Disney is asking Vine users, or Viners, to create mini films highlighting their own unique and exciting experiences at the parks. The Vines should be posted with the hashtag #DisneySideContest to be eligible for the daily contest.
On October 7, the Disney account will start displaying the daily winners. At the end of the contest, an overall winner will be selected and they will receive a vacation to the Disney resort of their choosing plus a $10,000 commission to create a series of Vine videos for Disney’s feed. The feed has already attracted 13,400 followers and some pretty great submissions.
Disney is a content king, so Vine is a perfect fit for the brand; though, the company was a little late jumping onto the Vine bandwagon. Fortunately, the app is still popular enough to produce big results in terms of engagement. Vine has over 40 million monthly users and according to an infograph from The 7th Chamber, a branded Vine is four times more likely to be seen than a branded video.
Creativity and imagination lie at the heart of this enchanting brand and will no doubt come across in both original and user-generated content. To keep up with the daily winners or to enter the contest yourself, check out the official Disney Side Contest site.
